                                               SCHOOL TOURS:
Not sure were to bring your students for their next field trip?
Consider the Babbie Rural & Farm Learning Museum.
The main goal for school tours is to provide a fun and hands-on experience in order to show children what life was like on a typical North Country farm in the late 1800's-early 1900's.
We believe this goal is more readily achieved when each visitor participates in physical and thought provoking activities at the museum.  Nearly everything they see, hear or do is a new experience for them and feelings of wonder and awe are expressed.  The children get to participate in a scavenger hunt for items they probably have never seen before.   At the horse barn, children pull on the hayfork rope hoping they are strong enough to get their bale of hay to the loft.  They learn how corn was ground in earlier days and participate in this process.  They enjoy a stagecoach ride through the fields, visit the farm animals and have a picnic lunch while sitting on bales of hay.  As the boys and girls board the bus, all are excitedly talking about the wonderful things they have seen and experienced.  As the bus pulls away the children shout,  "We'll be back".  Many hopefully will return, bringing with them their parents, friends and relatives.
